TAPA was thrilled to welcome Shannon Romig and her friends back to TAPA Summer Camp. Last week, with the help of almost a dozen other dancers, Shannon taught an Irish Step Dancing to all campers each day! Campers learned basic Irish Step Dancing technique, patters, and combinations.
Following the lead of their buddies, campers found themselves jumping, hopping, kicking, reeling, and clapping along as traditional Irish music filled the air. Our favorite dance with The Bunny Hop. There was even a talented dancer that sang the Irish National Anthem. Her voice was incredible!! It was a beautiful addition to our camp day.
On Friday, the dancers dressed in gorgeous traditional dresses and wigs and performed for us. Parents and caregivers joined us for this mini-concert and everyone had a blast. Although we are sad that Shannon and the rest of the dancers had to leave, we are happy to welcome them back next summer! We can’t wait to see what else we learn.
