THE THERESA FOUNDATION and Theresa Academy of Performing Arts had so much to be thankful for this year! On
Thanksgiving weekend, United Cerebral Palsy Nassau County hosted their 24th Annual Festival
of the Trees at the Cradle of Aviation. The Theresa Academy donated a tree to UCPN that was called “Mix It Up”! Much like our art show, the tree showed our spirit and talent to museum and festival visitors.
Theresa Academy of Performing Arts students worked for several weeks to make handmade ornaments from feathers, acrylic paint, and bright paper that made the tree truly unique. Our 6 foot tree proudly stood wearing our TAPA colors (green, blue, and white) with a little extra pink and sparkle to really help it shine. On top we had a dancing
angel to pull the whole tree together.
Thousands gathered to see the holiday trees that were decorated to be traditional, trendy, outrageous, and memorable! There were Santa Claus trees, music trees, even a Star Wars themed tree! It was truly a festive event.
Our TAPA tree was purchased by a local office and it was up for the whole holiday season. All proceeds went to benefit UCPN.
Special thanks to Ruby Einhart, our youngest TAPA volunteer, who helped us to decorate our tree with love
